Shutdown Procedure for Security Stack Server¶
1. Purpose¶
This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlines the proper shutdown and startup sequence for the Security Stack server and associated virtual machines (VMs).
2. Scope¶
This procedure applies to all personnel responsible for maintaining the Security Stack server and its associated VMs.
3. Shutdown Order¶

Shutdown through ESX (10.11.220.11).

SBC
- Login with ADN.
- Save the configuration.

Shutdown through ESX (10.11.220.11).

Shutdown through ESX (10.11.220.11).

- Login with ADN.
- Save the configuration.

Shutdown through ESX (10.11.220.11).

PE
- Login with ADN.
- Save the configuration.
- Shutdown through ESX (10.11.220.11).
4. Post-Shutdown Procedure¶
- Once all VMs are shut down:
- Enter maintenance mode.

Power off the Security Stack server.

Perform necessary maintenance tasks ("do your things").
5. Startup Procedure¶

Power back on the Security Stack server.

Exit maintenance mode.

All VMs are configured to auto-start. Monitor ESXi to ensure they start up accordingly.
6. Responsibilities¶
It is the responsibility of the designated personnel to ensure that this procedure is followed correctly and that all systems are properly shut down and restarted as outlined.
7. Documentation¶
Document any issues encountered during the shutdown and startup process and report them to the appropriate authority.
